Managing The Onset of Anxiety

There are several things you can do to calm yourself if you feel your anxiety level rising. For instance, if you’re experiencing shortness of breath and feel a panic attack is forthcoming, cup your hands and place them over your nose and mouth while taking in several deep, controlled breaths.

Breathing is a great way to manage your levels of anxiety, because the body’s stress responses are influenced by how you breathe. For instance, slow, deliberate breaths can reduce the fight or flight response often associated with anxiety.

In addition, self-talk is also important. Instead of letting your feelings overwhelm you, repeat to yourself that your reaction isn’t a natural reaction for you and that it will pass. Focus on a place and time that brings you serenity, a place that you think fondly about, and let yourself go there in your thoughts.

Both of these techniques can be helpful when you’re feeling anxious.

If anxiety has become a problem in your life and you’re looking for a natural anxiety treatment, here’s an excellent resource: The Linden Method. Eliminate anxiety and panic attacks. Remove the core cause of your anxiety without effort. If you have an anxiety disorder, panic attacks, phobias, PTSD or OCD, The Linden Method has the solution.
