On May 20, 2009 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) ‘confirmed’ almost 5,700 cases of the H1N1 Influenza, or ‘Swine Flu,’ in the US. Of the 5,700 cases, at least eight people have died. At this time the CDC can no longer keep up with the growing number of infected people and have chosen to make estimates based on statistical modeling. The CDC’s modeling shows that the outbreak of H1N1 is currently at a pandemic level. Statistics show that the flu will eventually infect 1/3-1/2 of the world.
